Underwriting

Approach
Conduit Re’s business is made up of six core classes of treaty reinsurance written on a quota share and excess of loss basis.

Our central ethos is focused sharply on quality underwriting built on discipline, transparency and risk management over the long-term. We continue to build a team of underwriters with multiclass skills who collaborate to deliver a target overall portfolio, with a collaborative approach working across the various classes of reinsurance rather than teams operating in ‘silos’ of business.

Team
Conduit Re’s team is comprised of experienced individuals from both reinsurance and insurance backgrounds with the expertise and experience to access and manage risk through the market cycles.

Strong leadership
Our leadership team has highly regarded industry credentials, with hundreds of years’ experience in industry leading organisations in all aspects of insurance across distribution, underwriting and technology (including several successful start-up vehicles).

Technology
We invest in and leverage technology to support our underwriting teams – we focus particularly on data driven pricing, analytics and exposure management and aim to maximise our use of technology to ensure the team is positioned to make the best real time capacity allocation and underwriting decisions in a highly efficient operating environment.
